What does the word Ayurveda mean?
Ayurveda is a Sanskrit word: Ayur means life and Veda means science or knowledge. Hence, it translates to Science of Life or Knowledge of Life.
Are there any side effects of Ayurvedic treatment?
Ayurveda is a natural therapy; hence, it has no or fewer side effects or almost no complications (when taken responsibly and on the advice of an expert) whereas, other systems of medicine often have lots of side effects and can potentially cause several complications.
Do I have to be Vegetarian or Vegan to follow Ayurvedic Lifestyle?
Absolutely not! The system suggests food that is ideal for the body and mind. We are what we eat and our thoughts are the results of our food intake, hence the practitioner will recommend which food serves your health and energy needs best.
How should I prepare for a reiki session?
Drink plenty of water and relax. I would recommend short meditation before the session, but not required.
